Dr. Zeniewnski-Singh

Michelle Zaniewski-Singh M.D., F.A.C.P., F.A.C.E., C.M.E.S., F.A.S.L.M.S., E.C.N.U.

Dr. Zaniewski-Singh graduated with honors from the University of Wisconsin Medical School in Madison, Wisconsin where she was elected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.

She did her internship and residency training at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio and her fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.

She is double board certified and does clinical research. She is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, a Fellow of the American College of Endocrinology and a Fellow of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery. She is a Certified Medical Aesthetic Specialist. She has been a faculty member and speaker for the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine and a faculty member and lecturer for the Asia Pacific Aesthetic Medicine Association. She has lectured nationally and internationally on Aesthetic Laser Medicine, Laser Physics, Chemical peels, and a number of other topics.

Dr Zaniewski-Singh started her private practice in 1982. She initially taught and worked at the Houston VA Hospital as part of the Baylor College of Medicine system.

She later taught for the University of Texas Medical School and was faculty there.

She was selected as one of Houston’s TopDocs by HTexas magazine in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010.She was featured in the Houston Modern Luxury magazine’s Profiles in Healthcare Distinction in 2007. In 2009 she was selected by Health and Fitness Sports Magazine as one of Houston’s best physicians as voted by their peers.

Dr. Zaniewski-Singh is unique as a practicing Endocrinologist and Aesthetic Laser specialist. Her interest in laser medicine started years ago with the motivation to help her patients with hormonal imbalances, acne, acne scarring, excessive body hair and facial hair.

Dr Zaniewski-Singh invented and was the first to publish an article on an innovative effective laser treatment for acne using the Erbium: YAG laser. This was published in the Journal of Cosmetic and Laser therapy in December 2006.

In 2009 she authored Chapter 32, Filler Complications, p 138 -144 in Office-Based Cosmetic Procedures and Techniques, editor Sorin Eremia MD, 2009, published by Cambridge University Press.

In addition to endocrine procedures, she and her staff perform Laser hair removal, ablative and nonablative laser skin rejuvenation, acne treatments, laser vein treatment chemical peels, microdermabrasion, Botox injections, laser tattoo removal and Carboxytherapy. She has special training in treatment of Skin of color.

Endocrine Certification in Neck Ultrasound (ECNU) is a professional certification in the field in the field of neck ultrasonography for Endocrinologists who perform consultations and diagnostic evaluations for thyroid and parathyroid disorders through both diagnostic ultrasound and ultrasound- guided fine needle aspiration (UGFNA). The ECNU credential signifies that an individual has passed the Comprehensive Certification Examination (CCE) and successfully completed the Validation of Competency Process (VCP).

Selected as the first physician in the world to have her practice accredited in thyroid and parathyroid ultrasonography by the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM) on June 9, 2009. AIUM ultrasound practice accreditation is a peer-review process that examines practices against nationally recognized standards of excellence in training and qualifications of personnel, quality of ultrasound examinations, maintenance and calibration of machines, quality of reports, implementation of protection policies, and regular quality assurance activity. The AIUM recognizes American College of Endocrinology’s Endocrine Certification in Neck Ultrasound as evidence of sufficient physician training in thyroid/parathyroid ultrasound. The American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM) is a multidisciplinary association dedicated to advancing the safe and effective use of ultrasound in medicine through professional and public education, research, development of guidelines, and accreditation. The purpose of the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine is to advance the art and science of ultrasound in medicine and research through educational, scientific, literary and professional activities.
