Laser Hair Removal with Darker Skin Types |

 Dark skin has more pigment than light skin. Melanin in the hair follicle is the same pigment as melanin in the skin. There is no ideal single hair removal laser that treats patients with light and dark skin equally efficiently, effectively and safely. If you use a longer wavelength for hair removal in a patient with lighter skin it is less effective.If you use a shorter wavelength in someone with darker skin you are more likely to cause burns.
Our two hair removal lasers are “state of the art” and have won the Aesthetic Trends and Technologies Laser Choice award. The 755 nm Alexandrite laser is the “gold standard” of treating patients with lighter skin and the high powered Nd: YAG is the “gold standard” for treating patients with darker skin types. There are multiple hair removal lasers and intense pulsed light machines on the market but we will not compromise on quality. Ours are the most comfortable as well as the most effective.
